Absentee voting is now underway in Loudoun County with ballots for both in-person and by-mail absentee voting available through the Loudoun County Office of Voter Registration.
The schedule for voting in person at the Voter Registration Office, 750 Miller Drive, S.E., Suite C, in Leesburg is:
• Monday through Friday: September 21 through October 19 – 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Monday through Friday: October 22 through November 2 – 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• Saturday, October 27, and Saturday, November 3 – 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Beginning Monday, October 22, 2012, in-person absentee voting will be available at two satellite locations: Cascades Senior Center, 21606 Whitfield Place in Sterling; and Dulles South Multipurpose Center, 24950 Riding Center Drive in South Riding. The schedule for both locations is:
• Monday through Friday: October 22 through November 2 – 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• Saturday, October 27, and Saturday, November 3 – 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Matt Letourneau will hold his next quarterly Dulles Direct Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, September 26 at 7:00 p.m. in the Mercer Middle School Auditorium. He’s holding this meeting in Stone Ridge because there is an important issue regarding the configuration of Gum Spring Road that residents need to be aware of. Staff from VDOT and from the Loudoun County Office of Transportation Services will be on hand to discuss a plan to significantly change traffic flow at the Route 50 intersection.
If you travel in this corridor, you are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting and help spread the word with your neighbors. In addition, Dulles District School Board Representative Jeff Morse will be present to give a back to school update.

Loudoun County will host an electronics recycling event on Saturday, September 22, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Telos Corporation, 19886 Ashburn Road, Ashburn, VA 20147.
There is a limit of 15 items per vehicle that you can bring to the event. A computer, monitor, keyboard, and mouse will be considered one item. If you have more than 15 items, see Other Electronics Recycling Opportunities to determine if any may serve your needs, or call the Division of Waste Management at 703-777-0187, Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
